Puli varal is a tea time snack famous in talassery area. My grandmother used to cooke this and I love to eat. With her hand its taste was amazing I can’t explain that. Mainly its taste comes from jaggery and mysore banana (slight sweet and sour taste). This snack we can put in an extinct dish category because I don't know how many knows about this. Now very rarely all preparing this.Puli is malayalam meaning of tamarind and varal may be localized word of 'frying'so I think from its shape Puli varal name came.
